Dazzling! Dior Gallery: the haute couture house has opened a museum in Paris - Our images

We dreamed of it, Dior did it. A new fashion museum has just opened its doors in Paris in the greatest secrecy, recreating in the legendary private mansion of Monsieur Christian Dior, a parade of the most dazzling models from the famous House. You will have to climb this dizzying staircase enveloped by some 1,500 miniaturized objects from the Dior universe - designed in 3D printing in monochrome colors. We slip into the “gallery”, a sober name given to the museum space of this new essential meeting place for it-culture. An impressive scenography orchestrated like a ballet of the most striking models of the famous brand who seem to float in the 2000 m² of space. A staging by Nathalie Crinière, which is obviously reminiscent of the exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs which shattered all records in 2017. But we are going to go further, skip the show and the glitter, and the air of nothing, enter into history... Let's remember. Originally. Workshops in the attic, a very small design studio, a cabin for models, six small fitting rooms... Christian Dior's lair, a true "refuge of the marvelous" that the designer himself nicknamed "the office of Reveries” finally opens up to us. Models, original sketches, archival documents, accessories and even the designer's office, are given to us to see for the first time or almost...

All the references to the essence of Dior style are brought together here in an enchanting ball, from the New Look to the iconic swing skirts. 13 rooms tell us like the chapters of a book the fabulous history of the House of Dior, meeting the abundant worlds of artistic directors, from the very young Saint Laurent to the extravagant John Galliano, from Raf Simons to Maria Grazia Chiuri and her committed vision of femininity. Iconic designers who would not be able to shine without the infinitely precise work of the seamstresses whom we will be able to meet here, working in a workshop, surrounded by models, sketches and canvases. We then come across the silhouettes of icons of femininity of yesterday and today, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Lady Diana, Sophie Marceau, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Nathalie Portman, Adèle and Rihanna. A story of talents and passions which ends in apotheosis with this flamboyant finale, highlighting the most sumptuous evening dresses, among which many creations brought together for the first time in Paris shine.
