Millefleurs, peacocks and giant herbaria… Let yourself be lulled by the dazzling colors of Dom Robert’s plant tapestries. Nestled in the heart of the Montagne Noire, frozen in its medieval setting, the City of Sorèze celebrates the arrival of spring by offering this brand new display of its permanent collections. The opportunity to immerse ourselves in the gentle and poetic work of this Benedictine monk who over time became one of the most prolific cardboard painters of the last century, but also to discover the wooded landscapes of virtuoso artists, image of the impenetrable forests of Elie Maingonnat, the realistic compositions of Gérard Schlosser or the magical realism of Léo Chiachio and Daniel Giannone.
Imagined as a captivating ode to nature, this exhibition brings to life the enchanting, joyful and exotic stories of its illustrious guests. Intoxicated by the fantasy of the settings, we let ourselves be enveloped by lush vegetation. Here, we browse through styles, pick out certain details in bucolic landscapes before redefining the contours of contemporary tapestry with this fascinating installation by Carole Chebron, a veritable forest of suspended metal, wool and cotton.
