Video: We visited the Venice exhibition by Henri Landier for you at the Atelier d'Art Lepic

Far from the classic exhibitions in museums or galleries, follow us today to one of the very last artist studios in Montmartre, to meet the masterpieces of Henri Landier. It is in this flowery setting of light, sheltered from view and the tumult of the capital, that our artist has been drawing, painting, engraving, for years. At the dawn of his 90th birthday, Henri Landier invites us to tell us about Venice. Venice differently. Henri Landier paints Venice like a theater set of which we are spectators, swapping the blue of its canals for the dazzling yellow of its sunny sky, the beige of its facades for vibrant pinks and enchanted scarlets. Tourist movements have given way to village, family, joyful, friendly atmospheres. Here the city comes back to life, flooded with color, brought to life by a lively line which seems to dance on the canvas. Venice, the real one. From his first large classic drawings in blood chalk to the strong and colorful watercolors of his last trip in 2022, the hundred or so masterpieces on display tell a masterly story, giving us in a single retrospective more than 35 years of creation of one of the last great masters of Montmartre.
