In the making of an ecosystem

The pink house, the green shutters, the studio with the water lilies, the sunflower-yellow dining room, the kitchen with its Delft blue tiles – everything is preserved as Monet left it in 1926. And above all, the garden. The two gardens. The Clos Normand in front, dense and untidy as he liked it, and the Water Garden behind, the pond, the Japanese bridge, the wisteria, the weeping willows. The water lilies bloom from the beginning of June – you arrive at just the right time. Arrive early (opens at 9:30 a.m.), or in the late afternoon (4 p.m.), to avoid the crowds and capture the low-angled light that Monet favored.

In the footsteps of Claude Monet

Claude Monet's grave is located in the small cemetery of the Sainte-Radegonde church, a five-minute walk from the house. His tomb is simple, decorated with a medallion. He rests there with Alice, his two successive wives, and Blanche. A discreet, almost unknown place. This is the perfect place to end your visit.
