When reason falters, painting takes over.

The paint is oily. The images provoke gravity. Drew Dodge, a young American painter, is the heir to a culture of visual whimsy. The journey begins when reason surrenders. Universes are enlisted by the movement of an immense pendulum shaped like a cannonball. Ribboned chairs face each other in a mirror effect whose stability depends solely on dreams. All the ingenuity of a new generation of artists, experimenters with a sensitivity to the absurd, takes us here more than ever into zones of permeability. The mystery of the world is covered with a painting that doesn't seek to fit into categories. Dali had already formulated this ideal of another world. Drew Dodge continues along the path.
