Gyan Panchal exhibition, economy of the masterful, at the Marcelle Alix gallery

MARCELLE ALIX
From September 3 to October 10, 2026

With almost nothing, Gyan Panchal achieves a great deal: he transforms discarded materials into sculptures that teach us how to see.

Sometimes very little is needed to create. A discarded sheet of metal, a worn glove, a piece of plastic, or an object destined for oblivion: in the hands of Gyan Panchal, these discarded materials are transformed. This economy of means is the very strength of his work. A slight fold, a cut, an assembly is enough to reveal the plastic qualities of a material we no longer noticed. Contrary to any demonstration, Gyan Panchal composes a sculpture of attention, where the works seem to waver between found objects and abstract forms. A journey into the unknown where we already know so much.
