François Goudier exhibition, variations from the studio, at the Faidherbe gallery
FAIDHERBE GALLERY
From September 10 to October 3, 2026
In artists' studios, François Goudier photographs what no one else sees.
Chagall, Modigliani, Soutine, and Zadkine had their studios at La Ruche in the 15th arrondissement. A century later, François Goudier is still photographing life in Parisian studios. The Faidherbe Gallery is exhibiting his Studio Variations, black and white silver gelatin series captured throughout his career, from La Ruche to the studios of Montparnasse and abroad. A photojournalist distributed by Gamma-Rapho, Goudier has the eye of a reporter and the presence of a discreet guest. He captures what artists conceal: a territory of materials, tools, light, and silence. A groundbreaking exhibition at the heart of this year celebrating the bicentenary of photography.
