Passed test for Good Driving
Trainer in a points recovery center by day, Pauline transforms, at night, behind the wheel of a racing car, into a serial killer of drivers. Unfortunately, one of his victims one day escapes the final ax.
More than a revenge movie on the Breton coasts, this schoolboy detective comedy celebrates the meeting on the big screen of a group of (let's say it) infinitely endearing idiots. Between two cries of seagulls, we find the brilliant Laure Calamy, extraordinary as a psychopathic killer and vigilante charged with a very personal mission of road protection, Tchéky Karyo as a real villain and the legendary Palmashow duo, irresistible as a duo of cops without flair . The plot is simple, the dialogues deliciously stupid but it is clear that each line hits the mark. Jonathan Barré, to whom we already owe La Folle histoire de Max et Léon and Les Vedettes, has created a good reverse thriller full of cinematic references (from Oiseaux by Alfred Hitchcock to Drive by Nicolas Winding Refn, including the cult Usual Suspects by Bryan Singer). Even if we would have liked more rhythm in this chase on the trail of deadly collisions, we salute the careful staging, the outrageously pop neon lights of the crime scenes and the so 80's synths. A piece of advice: hold on to your seat belts and go for it!
