Ladies' Tailor at the Théâtre de la Madeleine

Feydeau in bell-bottoms: at the Théâtre de la Madeleine, Julien Alluguette transposes Tailleur pour dames (Ladies' Tailor) to the 1970s, with a musical theme for each character.

1

Doctor Moulineaux returns home at dawn and, to justify his night's sleep, declares himself a ladies' tailor: the lie will cost him a shop, a mistress, and a mother-in-law. Julien Alluguette, who adapts the play with Ange-Mathieu Bonvarlet and directs it, propels Georges Feydeau into a full-blown funk, pop colors, and slamming doors. Mikaël Mittelstadt leads the cast, with a rotating troupe behind him. An hour and twenty minutes without a moment's pause.
